Some objects resist explanation. La Bruja is one of them.
Constructed from stacked wood slats in a geometric lantern form, her body is ringed with vintage glass marbles — cobalt, amber, emerald, clear — each one placed by hand, each one catching light differently depending on the hour. Lit from within by a warm filament bulb, she casts a glow that is less illumination and more atmosphere.
She came to us through another designer's collection. We restored her marble inlay, rewired her with a braided brown cord and inline switch, and gave her a copper socket worthy of her character. Beyond that, we left her alone. Some things don't need improving — they just need the right room.
One of a kind. Once she's gone, she's gone.
